Because Lutherans love the past and the present. Pictured is a photograph of the first sanctuary of Emanuel's ca.1905 with an interior view of the altar. There is a lot to admire here and it's fun to be nostalgic. But, do you know what they did not have? Air conditioning! What a sticky group they would be in this sweltering summer of 2022. Grateful for the perseverance of our ancestors. Equally grateful for our persevering AC team who repaired the system last week so that we could safely gather together for worship. We are better, past and present, together.
