Christian Education Opportunities

THE HERITAGE CLASS (307): 9:15am. Participants explore the deeper meaning found in the Bible and seek to unlock its' wisdom through fellowship and robust group discussion. The aim is to make the Bible relevant and applicable to daily life.

JOY CLASS (Women’s Ministry Room): Bible stories and songs for adults with intellectual disabilities. Class meets on Sept. 1, Oct. 20, Nov. 10, and Dec. 8 at 9:00am.

THE DISCIPLES CLASS (Family Life Center): 9:00am. Seasonal Bible studies, book studies, film and faith studies, and incredible discussions for adults of all ages. Topics delve into the word and explore applications out in the world.

CHILDREN'S CHURCH: Children's Church is a weekly time for our younger learners, PK to 5th grade, to join in Bible study, crafts, and activities, during the worship service. Our Children's Ministry Assistant will lead our students to designated classrooms, just down the hall from the sanctuary, as we begin the "Gathering Hymn" and then guide them back as we "Share the Peace." We hope you will make this a part of your family's weekly worship rhythm!

THE COMPASS COOPERATIVE gathers every Sunday during the school year with our four church partners (Emanuel's Lutheran Church, Friedens Church, St. Andrew's Episcopal, and Spirit of Joy Lutheran) at Spirit of Joy campus. Middle School Compass (6-8 gr.) from 4-5pm, dinner for everyone at 5pm, and High School Compass (9-12 gr) from 5:30-6:30pm. Check out our Summer Schedule here.

CONFIRMATION CLASSES for our 6th to 8th graders meets this year on the 4th Sunday of every month after worship in the Women’s Ministry Room. See the full schedule here.

3RD GRADE BIBLE CLASS & PRESENTATION is offered each September. The pastor offers a brief overview of the Bible, its testaments, and its history. Each student will be presented with their own Bible, along with book tabs to mark each books' beginning, as well as a personalized name plate. During the worship service that follows, the Bibles are blessed and presented by each student's parents or guardians.

FIRST COMMUNION: Classes are held each spring on Sunday mornings from 9:15-10:15am in the Women’s Ministry Room. Classes are open to all 5th grade youth and older, as well as parents, guardians, or the interested soul. First Communion is celebrated on Maundy Thursday.
