Because Lutherans love gestures of affirmation: our Flower Ministry serves double, and often triple, duty. It starts with the camaraderie of our floral designers on Fridays as they create arrangements given in honor and memory of Emanuel's loved ones for Sunday worship. Flowers in the Sanctuary also serve as a reminder of the gift of life God has given to the human community. The beauty doesn't stop there, though. Following worship, people are invited to take the floral pieces to the homes of folk who cannot be with us in church or simply need a colorful pick-me-up. And on Monday, if there are still remaining blooms, smaller arrangements are put together for our Pastoral Care Team out on visitations that week.
